The "smart" blood is on the corporate and legal side of things. The GB is ignorant about the real world and how it works. I wonder whether they even understand the psychology behind the way they control people.

The Future New Lights (jw speak for corrections) Of the Illustrative GB
by frankiespeakin inthe scene of the world is changing and so must the jw religion in order to keep pace and keep losses in currant membership to a minimum and still offer an attractive lure for prospective new converts.
this must be done on a regular basis just to keep them afloat as old teachings were actually made by a group of old men with old ideas and old dates that have to give way to the obvious reality of unfulfilled predictions.. the wt publishing company has sought new blood in the way of younger men appointed to the high ranks of the gb,, some receiving their calling to the anointed latter than 1960 long after the once imposed cutoff date of 1935 for those with the heavenly calling.
i remember as an elder back in the 80's being told by the co not to count some in the congregation who were partaking of the emblems at the memorial, because they were not baptized early enough and the reason given was that they obviously had some emotional problems that caused them to make the claim and that counting them would throw the wt figures out of whack.. apparently the wt corporation's ceos are on the horns of a dilemma caused by their short sighted predictions and literal interpretations of the #144,000 in revelation, and adding to the mix of doctrinal problems is also the ever increasing scientific knowledge being taught in grammar, middle, and high schools much to the chagrin of bible fundamentalist who are seeking and even demanding equal time for their theory of intelligent design creationism.. will the wt go with the flow and learn from the catholic church(who at one time tortured and killed heretics) but now accepts the earth is not the center of the universe and who's leader the pope now claims the fact of evolution is not at odds with the bible?

Discussion with my family.
by ColdRedRain init was a cold night and my girlfriend needed to make a pitstop at my grandmother's house.
of course, no good jw would give up an opportunity to witness to people.
and my family are no exceptions.. anyway, my grandfather was asking my girlfriend why i don't attend the cult meetings anymore.

why i wept bitterly in front of two elders......
by oompa innot sure if i ever shared this...but have seen several "sharing" threads here lately and it motivated me..... when i met with the co and po about some doubts and an important question....and when i got the co's answer.....i could not speak....i put my head down and just started crying...not sobbing cause i fought it back...finally the only words to come out were..."i am going to have to leave my wife and son"....and they were like wtf?...but in jw lingo of course.
see i knew in that instant...that very moment....that i had been lied to my entire life...and my stack of doubts i had been piling on the shelf and waiting on jehovah were all valid....and i knew i would never fit in again...not even with my wife and son...that i would never be the spiritual head they needed and wanted.....that was almost 4 years ago...man time flies...and yep...now i am separated from my jw wife...and yep...i did not fit in...not even with her...and my son is older now and moved out but we are not close.
btw...i had printed out all 12 places in rev.

It's in an obscure factoid in JW literature, at best. Most of the time they imply that all of the uses of "Jehovah" in the NWT Greek Scriptures are when the writer is directly quoting a Hebrew scripture. But that isn't true. There are lots of uses of "Jehovah" in the NWTGS that are not quotes from the Hebrew scriptures and there may even be some quotes from the Hebrew scriptures where they changed it the other way, from "Jehovah" to "God" or "Lord" IIRC.

The shunning thing is among the more widely interpreted rules in the org. I know people who work alongside their DFd relatives on a daily basis without ever having a problem from their local congregation elders. And I've heard stories like this one. I think enforcement depends on your local body of elders and whether they enjoy pursuing this sort of thing, or whether they feel like pursuing something like this might make them stand out to the CO.

by cantleave incould those who know about these lay offs give some clear evidence of what has happened, when, to who, any experiences of people effected and to what extent?.
i want to talk to a really good friend about the situation.
he is a young guy who feels he should be doing more for the organisation, and is thinking about giving up a very good career to make a more of his career in the "truth".

by wobble induring the dark days of the second world war , the monsters that ran a concentration camp decided to hang a child.. they hung the poor little chap so that it took half an hour for him to die, all the while making the other inmates look into the face of the child.. where was your god then ?
was he not strong enough to do anything or did he just not care ?.
if the first then he is a very weak god, if the second then,.

a couple of weeks ago this work companion came to me visibly quite uncomfortable and said he needed to talk.

Good experience; thanks for sharing it. It truly is a bizarre organization. I recently explained to my "worldly" boss why I've been preoccupied and not quite my fun self at work lately (because of the WTS and self-discovery I've been going through, and the planning of the fade). She had a hard time wrapping her mind around the fact that I'd have to give up half my family just to quit a church. My own mind still boggles at the concept. Glad this kid went back to his mom.

the first is 'the 1914 group' and the second is the younger anointed 'contemporaries' who 'actually work for a period of time with those anointed ones'.. the 'generation' is now 'the lifespan of those who actually saw the beginning of the sign and then the lifespan of those who worked with those who saw the beginning of the sign'.. here we go again....

If there was a way to find balance between the strict Order of the Judeo-Christian God and the free-for-all Chaos of his counterpart (you can call him Satan if you like), then we would be on to something. With the supposedly "good" God "it's my way or the highway" and with Satan it's "do whatever you like, whenever you like."
I choose NEITHER. There is merit to both philosophies and one must find a balance between the two to ever feel peace in this life.
